Easy Mixed Berry Compote
Easy frozen berry compote that is so quick and easy to whip up using just three ingredients. Made with delicious berries, this flavorful recipe can be used in dozens of ways - making it a perfect staple for every kitchen!

- 2 cups mixed berries* fresh or frozen
- 1-2 tbsp maple syrup*
- 1 tsp lemon juice*
In a small sauce pan over medium heat, bring mixed berries to a boil, then turn down the heat to low and let simmer for 20-30 minutes
Once fruit is cooked down, mash until you reach a desired consistency.
Add maple syrup until you reach a sweetness you prefer, then mix in lemon juice. Let cool, then store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
* Any fruit will make an excellent compote. See the post for some alternative ideas.
*Sweeteners like honey, can sugar, monk fruit sweetener could be used to replace the maple syrup if needed.
*lime juice or orange juice will change the sweetness a bit, but could also replace the lemon juice, if necessary.
